Marques DeLoney is a 25-year-old multi-media visual artist born in Long Island, New York. His current focus is the exchange of emotion and information between the physical and digital social landscapes. Closely observing online youth culture, he personifies emotions and behaviors through his characters, Puzzle and Red. To further emphasize the digital world as the primary setting, he floods his paintings with bright colors, symbols, and lines of text. This aesthetic choice is inspired by depictions of virtual reality seen in cartoons from his early childhood. The anime movie Summer Wars and the virtual band Gorillaz are his most significant sources of inspiration.

Marques uses acrylic paints and found materials. He loves "recontextualizing" magazine clippings, labels, and bright objects to create a new story for the viewer to uncover.
